The E2T PULSAR 4 is a high-durability radiation thermometer designed for furnace applications in petrochemical plants and for use in hazardous areas. A single infrared radiation thermometer can provide two independent temperature measurements at the same time. This product is specially designed for acid gas process furnaces such as Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) reactors, sulfur burners in sulfuric acid plants, and thermal oxidizers used in environmental waste treatment.
In systems that burn waste gases such as ammonia and hydrocarbons inside a reactor, it is necessary to maintain a high enough temperature to completely decompose the waste gas and prevent the formation of ammonia salts in downstream equipment. Accurate temperature measurement that does not depend on flame transparency is extremely important for complete combustion.
Solution
High-Durability Dual-Measurement Pyrometer for Acid Process Furnaces (Pulsar 4)
- Pyrometers
- Petrochemical
- Furnace

Features
Dual-Channel Simultaneous Measurement
The first channel is filtered to measure the process gas (flame) temperature and is used to monitor combustion conditions.
The second filter measures the refractory temperature and is used for high-temperature alarm and shutdown alarm systems.
Flame Transparency Compensation Function (with FMA)
The PULSAR 4 is equipped with Advanced Energy’s proprietary Flame Measurement Algorithm (FMA).
By using both flame temperature and refractory temperature, it performs real-time flame transparency compensation to correct changes in flame transparency.
This enables the most accurate flame and refractory temperature measurement possible with an IR radiation thermometer system.
