At nuclear power stations, uranium fuel used for power generation is stored in spent fuel pits, etc. The spent fuel pit is filled with water and equipped with cooling equipment to cool the spent fuel and to shield radiation. In the event of a natural disaster or other disaster causing a power plant to lose power, it is also necessary to use emergency power sources to control cooling, water level, and temperature in the pit.
Solution
Spent fuel pit water temperature meter
- RTD
- Electric Power
Features
We have manufactured a portable sensor to measure cooling temperature and water level as a backup measure that can respond to emergencies. When a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake occurs and the normal power supply is unavailable, this unit is assumed to be used after switching to the emergency power supply and has a simple structure that is not easily affected by the environmental conditions to be installed. Water level and temperature can be measured with a float-type water level gauge and an RTD.
