JIS standard for RTD

Extracted from JIS C 1604-1997
JPt100 depends on JIS C 1604-1989.

R100/R0 of the resistor

Symbol Nominal resistance(Ω at 0℃) R100/R0 value
Pt100 100 1.3851
JPt100 100 1.3916

(NOTE) R100 is the resistance of the resistance elements at 100℃ R0 is the resistance of the resistor at 0℃

Classification according to operating temperature range

Symbol Classification Operating temperature range(℃)
L For low temperature -200 ~ 100
M For medium temperature 0 ~ 350
H For high temperature 0 ~ 650(*)

(*)The sheathed RTD and JPt100 shall be 500℃.

Class and specified current

Symbol Class Tolerance(℃) Specified current (mA)

(JPt100)
A ±(0.15+0.002|t|) 0.5、1、2
B ±(0.3+0.005|t|) 0.5、1、2、(5)

(NOTE) |t| is the measured temperature in degrees Celsius, which is independent of the + and – symbol.

Temperature tolerance

Measured temperature Tolerance(℃)
Class A Class B
-200 ±0.55 ±1.3
-100 ±0.35 ±0.8
0 ±0.15 ±0.3
100 ±0.35 ±0.8

Insulation resistance and withstand voltage

Test temperature(℃) Insulation resistance(MΩ) Test voltage(V)
Room temperature 100 10 ~ 100
100 ~ 300 10 10 or less
301 ~ 500 2
501 ~ 650(*) 0.5

(*)Not applicable to sheathed RTD and JPt100.

The withstand voltage shall be withstanded when the test RTD is kept at room temperature and an AC voltage with a 500V close to the sine wave of frequency 50Hz or 60Hz is applied between the terminal and the protective tube for one minute. However, for those with a protective tube outside diameter 4.5mm or less, the test voltageshall be 1/2.
